A miracle dog who survived being shot 17 times has defied odds to become a registered therapy dog and ‘Instagram star’.
Maggie was found in Lebanon with 17 bullet wounds, her eyes shot out, her ear cut off and a broken jaw.
The 5-year-old pooch was also pregnant when she was discovered abandoned and tied to a box.
Last year, Maggie’s luck changed after she was rescued by animal charity, Wild At Heart.
After hearing Maggie’s horrific story, Kasey, a dog-lover from Brighton, decided to adopt the abandoned animal and offer it a better life.

“This is my throw back Thursday! This time last year I started my journey to a new life with my mom and sister. My story isn’t over… in fact it’s only just begun. Will you help me rescue fur friends still out in Lebanon? All are disabled and are in need of someone willing to give them a chance. I know they look sad right now but with love they will all become amazing dogs.” -Maggie #bemoremaggie • • • This time last year Maggie started her rescue journey. She was found and rescued and was in such a sad state. She was given a second chance at life and she seized the opportunity. Look at how happy and full of love she is now. These five disabled dogs deserve that same chance. You can read thief story and donate using the link in the bio. Even if you only donate a £1.00 (you can skip 1 coffee or 2 bars of chocolate for a day and donate it to these furbabies) if you could donate please follow the link in our bio if not please repost this and share with your followers so some of them can help. #tbthursday • • • #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescue #rescuedogsrule #rescuepit #rescuedogsrule #rescuedogsofig #rescuedogsofinsta #adoptionjourney #adoptabledogsofinstagram #adoptame #adopts #adoptables #adoptdontshop #adoptdontshop #adoptadog #adoptionstory #wildatheartfoundation #lovealldogs

Speaking to The Argus in May, Kasey explains:
This person in Lebanon posted asking for help and a woman in London saw the post and got help.
Wild At Heart said they would take her in, even though it’s quite hard to get pets out of Lebanon.
My mum saw Maggie’s post and said we had to foster her.
I got home and saw the picture and agreed.
After a six month online campaign, Kasey was able to organise Maggie’s removal from Lebanon.
Life for Maggie is considerably different in Brighton, reports BBC Online. Today, Maggie, or ‘Maggie the Wunderdog’, is inspiring animal lovers online.
She has more than 80,000 followers on Instagram and has become a registered therapy dog, visiting care homes, hospitals and universities to spread positivity.

When Someone Calls You Weird, Hit Them With These 30 Hilarious Comebacks
Wednesday July 17, 2019

1. God, you sound just like my therapist. 2. I’m doing a cosplay of you. How good is it? 3. Don’t throw the truth at me like it’s an insult. 4. This isn’t even my final evolution. 5. I can get a bit weirder, if you want… *wink wink nudge nudge* 6. You talk a … "When Someone Calls You Weird, Hit Them With These 30 Hilarious Comebacks "

“Guess what….I am now a registered therapy dog!! Do you think I’ll be able to make people happy?” -Maggie #bemoremaggie #bemoredog • • • As many of you know.. Maggie has a heart that loves unconditionally! Her spirit is infectious! She has a has a big personality. And she has and aurora that is so calming. Her story catches the hearts of many and reminds us all of our inner strength. Since the first time I met Maggie I knew she would make a great therapy dog if she wanted to be. Thankfully we found a charity that not only uses the healing power of dogs but also teaches the importance of animal welfare. Yesterday me and Maggie went to meet with her assessor, @maherandhounddogtraining she flaunted her stuff and gave it her best go and she PASSED. Maggie is now a registered therapy dog with @underdog_international . She and I will speak to schools and work hands on with youngsters. I know what happened to Maggie was horrendous but if her story can educate and inspire others to do good then at least we can do our part to make this world a little brighter. • • • #therapydog #therapydogsrock #therapydogsofinstagram #therapydoglife #dogtherapy #gooddoggos #dogisgood #gooddoggie #gooddoggo #rescuedogs #rescuedogsarethebestdogs #rescuedogsofinsta #rescuedoglife #rescuedoglove #dogslove #lovedogs #doglover #blinddog #dogsofinstagram #dogsoflondon #rescuedogstory #disableddogsofinstagram #dogsaretherapy #dogsaremytherapy

Despite Maggie’s horrifying ordeal, Kasey insists she’s a ‘normal dog’ with an ‘infectious spirit’.
Having never ‘met a dog like Maggie’, Kasey continued:
She’s just brilliant. She’s so energetic and bubbly. She walks off the lead and follows me around.
She must have been in agony with all she’s been through, but she never hurt anyone and she’s so loving.
Maggie’s story has captured the hearts of people across the UK and both Kasey and Maggie work full-time offering help to others both online and in person.
Speaking to The Argus, Kasey added:
She’s got a great life and she wants so much out of it… I just want people to see that she’s living life.
